Seven Chances (1925)
Have you ever seen a silent movie? If not, you may think that they are sure to be slow and boring. You couldn't be more wrong. No movies are more sure to make me laugh out loud than silent films starring Buster Keaton. This movie was no different. Hapless young Jimmie Shannon is in love and hasn't had the courage to tell the girl that he loves her--until he finds out that he stands to inherit a fortune and must be married in a few hours. She loves him too, but doesn't want to be married only because he "has" to be married.
Jimmie's business partner says that the young man must be married anyway and the ensuing search, pursuit, and flight of and from any and all single women in the town is hilarious.
Who should watch it: while young children will need to have someone read the dialogue to them, it is sure to entertain the whole family and is perfectly decent and wonderful humor.
